center city. clouds overhead and without a sunlight, we're hard to see them. 15 degrees warmer in philadelphia and trenton at 15 degrees warmer and millville at 18 degrees warmer. everything is warmer this morning. the temperatures right now 54 in northeast philly. allentown seeing breaks in the clouds and 47 in dover. but it's going to be a nice and sunny day today with temperatures climbing into the middle 50s by 9:00 and then by lunchtime, up to 64 degrees. nice and comfortable. when i come back, a look at the forecast, neighborhood by neighborhood. but, right now, let's check in with first alert traffic reporter jillian mele. good morning, jillian. >> good morning to you, bill. a live look at 95 shows no delays on 95 just yet. right near girard avenue and this is where we can see see volume later in the morning. but, for now, things are pretty quiet there. thanks to one of our loyal viewers who just sent me a tweet about this construction we still have out there on the northeast

extension. i reported it earlier this morning and just drove through this area and talking about a paving crew this is the northbound side of the northeast extension and jeff says that one lane is open from the toll booth out to route 663. thank you for that tweet. we want to know what is going on out there. in pennsauken. two lanes blocked out there in both directions until 6:00 this morning and that construction is still pretty active. for drivers in delaware, 495 at philadelphia pike. you can see 495 is quiet right now. we are not reporting any accidents on the majors in delaware. tracy? now to a story that has been developing for more than 24 hours now. surveillance video shows a young woman putting up a fight as she is grabbed off a germantown street. katy zachary is live at the corner where the abduction happened. katy, tell us more. >> since we've been out here, we've seen a number of philadelphia police cruisers drive down this block.

the same street where 22-year-old carlesha freeland-gaither was last seen. they think the kidnapping was random and here is the surveillance camera that caught the entire violent ordeal take place. from this video, you cann esee e struggle between the suspect and freeland-gaither. a few minutes before that, the suspect parks his four-door gray or silver car, possibly a ford taurus and then crosses the street just when the victim has rounded the corner. the suspect follows her and walks right up to freeland-gaither. she tries to run, but he grabs her and drags her down the block to his car. broke two windows during the strug tool get her in that car. >> let her go. let her go! just give me back my baby, please. just let her go. >> and here is a picture that the family provided philadelphia police. it is of 22-year-old carlesha

the campaign trail again today. democrat wolf has several stops scheduled in philadelphia this morning before he heads to his home base in york county and cobett will spend his day in pittsburgh. voters at 7:00 a.m., registered voters in pennsylvania and delaware can cast ballots. polls in all three states tonight will close tonight at 8:00. jesse gary is out this morning in philadelphia looking into a new task force that is designed to prevent corruption at the polls. jesse? >> chris, part of that results from what happens at the school behind me back in may a 64-year-old woman was running for committee person commission was charged with tampering with a voting machine. officials say she wrote her name in ink on a machine near the slot labeled write-in candidate. she later turned herself in, but in response to that incident and others philadelphia d.a. seth williams created a special task

bring you up to the minute news from across our region. >> three things we continue to follow throughout the day. a delaware state university student is recovering this morning after being shot in the parking lot of an off-campus residence hall. this happened yesterday afternoon just a few blocks from the main campus in dover. police are still looking for the gunman. police will return to the scene of a booby trapped building in philadelphia. sky force ten was near somerset yesterday where police say the business owner booby trapped his own building for security reasons. he was arrested. and the trial is expected to begin for a philadelphia police officer accused of aattacking a delaware family during a traffic stop. jonathan josey is being sued in district court. he is well known for his video where he was seen punching a woman after the puerto rican day parade in 2012. he was reinstated when he was acquitted of assault charges. the hide out of a suspected

no where near as cold as it was yesterday morning. there are some clouds overhead and in the 50s right now. clouds helping to keep things a bit warmer along with the wind out of the southwest at 8 miles an hour. a few sprinkles on the radar. most of it likely not even reaching the ground. don't be surprised if you see a raindrop or two to begin with. those clouds will be clearing and sunshine takes over for a nice warmup today. warmer than yesterday for sure. pocono mountains, 63 degrees. 66 in reading up to 65 for

quakertown. lots of sunshine for doylestown, northeast philadelphia and mt. holly and less wind along the coast. cape may, 67 along with vineland, dover could hit 70 degrees this afternoon. and nothing but sunshine for philadelphia, chester and wilmington, upper 60s today. but there are changes on the way over the next couple days, we're tracking potentially some heavy rainfall. seven-day forecast with the timing when i come back in less than ten minutes. now, 20 minutes until 6:00. time for a check of the roads before you head out on this tuesday morning. >> nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter jillian mele has your covered. >> eastbound as drivers make their way past route 29. still quiet out there, though, in both directions. the boulevard is also quiet as drivers make their way southbound approaching 76. that's where we can certainly see the volume later in the morning, but no volume to report right now. check on the 42 freeway as we head north to the bridges. average speeds across the bridge right now in the 50s. princeton university says a

new train station will open there november 17th. the station serves a two-car train known as the dinky. it shuttles passengers to and from the larger princeton junction station. it closed to allow princeton to build a $320 million arts center. 5:41 and we're taking you state by state for a look at local races we're keeping an eye on for you this election day. we'll stop in new jersey, next. plus, treehouse turmoil. it's a property dispute over a child's playhouse. one neighbor says he was forced to take matters into his own hands. the taney dragons are making parade plans. this one isn't in philadelphia. we'll tell you where you can catch the famous little leaguers later this month.

5:44. decision to 14 is upon us. tols are about to open in new jersey on this election day. here's proof. a live look inside cherry fire in camden county. voters can start casting ballots in 15 minutes at 6:00 a.m. a senate seat up for grabs along with several congressional seats. democrat cory booker will try to hold on to his senate seat and faces a challenge from republican jeff bell. bell also ran for senate in 1978.

in our newsroom. >> peterson due back in a texas courtroom today on that child abuse case that he's been charged with. the minnesota vikings star is charged with felony injury to a child. the case stems from peterson using a wooden switch to punish his 4-year-old son. peterson is desperate to get back to the nfl. he insists he meant no harm to his son. to california where a federal accident investigators are moving the wreckage of an experimental spaceship from the crash site into hangars now. the virgin galactic aircraft broke up in flight on friday in the mohave desert killing one pilot and injuring another. debris has been found as far as 35 miles away. a lava flow has reached a boiling point. creeping into a pond. you see the water boiling and turning it into steam. the lava's temperature is about 2100 degrees. the flow started spilling down

assigned there last thursday. he has two public court defenders who will help him prepare for a preliminary hearing november 12th. a child's treehouse is at the center of a property dispute in new castle county. this is what part of grace cole's treehouse looks like after a neighbor hired a contractor to take down part of the treehouse. the coles say the treehouse is now unsafe to use. their daughter, grace, has down syndrome and used the treehouse for exercise but neighbors think it encroaches into properties and are worried about liability. >> you can't cut that line, it's my kid's treehouse and he stood there and said, cut it, cut it. put a chain saw right through and cut out this main structural support here. >> the coles don't deny that the treehouse might encroach on other property, but they don't believe their neighbor had a legal right to take part of it down. that neighbor tells nbc 10 he

stands by his decision. few clouds are overhead this morning. they're starting to break in parts of the area, but producing a few sprinkles in others. right now it's dry in center city. a live view from the adventure aquarium and clouds breaking in reading now. 53 and 53 at philadelphia international and everybody is warmer this morning. a lot more bearable. no wind. this time of year with no wind and clear skies. it would be a chilly start, but the clouds really keeping temperatures up for potstown, doylestown and trenton in the low 50s. a few spots in the 40s. right now while it's 51 in washington township and we will see the sun warm things into the 60s. there are the few sprinkles showing up on the radar. they will not last. real rain will come on thursday from this. that's a cold front that will be moving in with the first raindrops early thursday morning. for today, though, get your

sunglasses prepared. we'll see temperatures into the middle to upper 60s this afternoon with a light south, southwesterly breeze. tomorrow more clouds in advance of the rainfall. a high of 68 and still nice and mild for wednesday. come thursday, a potential for some heavy rainfall just 63 degrees thursday afternoon. still a few showers early on friday, but it will dry out by the time temple takes the field on friday evening at lincoln financial field. sunshine will be bright on sunday, but look at the temperatures staying in the low 50s this weekend. maybe you're leaving the house a little early to get to your polling place. >> perhaps. >> hopefully the roads are clear for that. >> let's check on that with jillian mele. >> for the most part the roads are clear. penndot moving this camera behind me to get a check of things on 76 eastbound at montgomery drive. activity on the shoulder and that was a disabled vehicle that was blocking that far left lane and crews were able to get it pushed over to the shoulder at

least out of the lanes of traffic in that area. traffic is moving, but you notice we have that normal volume starting to build out there. conshohocken in the meantime, stick to front street route 320 on gulf road if you need to get around that. zooming this map out, average speeds still in the mid-50s on the majors around philadelphia, including 76, the blue route and 422. but as i mentioned, we are just starting to see those first pockets of volume out there that we're used to seeing on roads like 76 and 95. for drivers in the lehigh valley, this is a live look at route 22 at airport road. you can see for the most part, things are pretty quiet there. no accidents to report on 22 and no accidents right now on the northeast extension. chris. philadelphia' little league team front and center at macy's thanksgiving day parade. kick off march with mo'ne davis

now to decision 2014 and a look at some of the congressional seats up for grabs in pennsylvania. in the sixth congressional districts which covers parts of chester and burkes county treeoi taking on costello. in the seventh district pat meehan is looking for his third term in congress. he is being challenged by democrat mary allen mike fitzpatrick is running against strouse.

as they come in, we'll have coverage of the candidates across pennsylvania, delaware and new jersey. we'll hear from the losers and winners on air and online at nbc10 and on your mobile device with the nbc 10 news app. a free download for your smartphone or tablet. at 5:57. a quick look at the news happening in your neighborhood by county by county. we start in camden county where a worker from this county was killed at a free accident. that worker was killed by a one-pound tape measure that fell 50 stories from a building that was under construction in jersey city yesterday. that tape measure fell out of another worker's belt. 58-year-old gary anderson was hit in the head and he died at the hospital. police say he was not wearing a hard hat. police in ocean county are warning parents to inspect all of their children's halloween candy after a potentially dangerous discovery. manchester township police say a parent reported biting into a tootsy roll that she found and she found a shard of a toothpick

inside. she went trick or treating with her child in the pine lake area. that's the third time someone in this area reported a candy scare this halloween. over the weekend we told you about one teen who found a razor blade inside the wrapper and another teen who found a pen in a candy bar. turning to chester county where the borough has named a new interim police chief. king is a former pennsylvania state police trooper and new garden township police officer. he will be sworn in tomorrow night. and look at this, a big idea leads to a big pay day for some high schoolers in new castle county. students at concord high in north wilmington got an $8,000 grant from mit to help create a larger, more refined version of this device. designed to help hospitals find and remove syringes and small surgical tools from linens. it will be displayed at mit next summer and they hope it will

>> i'm vai sikahema. right to nbc 10 first alert meteorologist bill henley. bill? >> feels a whole lot better. temperatures in the 40s and 50s right now. still cooling down, but we're just over a half an hour away from sunrise and we will see it. along with more of a southerly wind today to help warm temperatures. in fact, right now, we're looking good. currently in philadelphia, it's 52 degrees and potstown has dropped down to 47 degrees and it's 50 degrees at wroithstown. 52 at philadelphia international and down to 50 in rocksborough it's 53 degrees. a warmer start all around and the bus stop this morning, dry, cool, 49 in the suburbs. 53 degrees in center city and during the day today, we'll see the clouds that are overhead thin out for sunshine. 64 at lunchtime. upper 60s later today. we'll go through it neighborhood by neighborhood when i come back in less than ten minute
